KC Soroptimists grant special COVID relief awards.
The Soroptimist International of Kansas City Club, through its Foundation, recently made a total of $15,000 available to assist local 501c3 organizations that focus on services and programs for women and girls, that were negatively impacted by Covid-19. Our club received twelve applications. The requests were varied and each was worthy. However, funds were limited and we had to make some difficult decisions. Grants were made to Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPA), Mother’s Refuge, Sisters In Christ, Baby Grace Ministry, The Salvation Army, Safehome, Shepherd’s Center, and Flourish Furnishings.
We wish these organizations well and hope they apply for our annual Service Objectives awards that will be given out in May 2021. Applications and funding criteria will be available on this website in October, 2020.
